New York authorities have ordered the confiscation of ancient statues at the Cleveland Museum of Art, which may be associated with robberies and antiquities trade in Turkey

        The Cleveland Museum of Art’s The Emperor as Philosopher, purportedly representing Marcus Aurelius, will be on display following the opening in 1916 of a gallery on the lower level of the Cleveland Museum of Art, covering subjects from ancient Egypt to medieval Europe.        CLEVELAND, Ohio — Earlier this month, a New York judge ordered the seizure of an ancient Roman bronze sculpture at the Cleveland Museum of Art as part of a search warrant issued earlier this month in connection with a criminal investigation into robbery and trafficking in cultural relics in Turkey.
